Cal-Royal 5000 Series Grade 1 Rim Exit Device

The Cal-Royal 5000 Series is a heavy-duty Grade 1 rim exit device for commercial door openings. Its non-handed design simplifies installation by removing the need to select a left- or right-handed device, while chassis-mounted unit construction provides a practical assembly for your door hardware project.

Choose from the listed 36-inch and 48-inch sizes, Aluminum and US32D finish options, and panic- or fire-rated configurations. Match the selected configuration to the opening and required trim before ordering.

Construction and installation

• ANSI standard: A156.3, Grade 1 heavy-duty rim exit device.
• Handing: Non-handed for easier installation.
• Assembly: Chassis-mounted unit construction.
• Trim options: Standard functions are available within the series. Lever and knob trims offer an optional clutch freewheeling mechanism.
• Door preparation: Trim rose covers a 161 cutout.

Panic and fire-exit configurations

The series specifications list UL panic approval and references to UL10C and UBC 7-2-1997. Fire-exit configurations have a listed 3-hour rating, including an (A) label rating on pairs of doors up to 8 feet by 8 feet swinging in the same or opposite directions. The fire rating applies to the appropriate fire-exit configuration, not every 5000 Series option.
