Function

Use the inside push-and-turn button to select how the outside knob stays locked. The two modes let you distinguish temporary locking from a setting that keeps outside entry key-controlled until the button is manually unlocked.

• Latch operation: The deadlocking latchbolt is operated by the knob on either side, except when the outside knob is locked.
• Push-button mode: Pushing the button in locks the outside knob, requiring a key for outside entry. Turning the inside knob unlocks the outside knob.
• Push-and-turn mode: Pushing in and turning the button locks the outside knob, requiring a key for outside entry at all times. Turning the inside knob does not unlock the outside knob in this mode; manually turn the button to the unlocked position.
• Inside operation: The inside knob is always free.

Commercial Grade 1 performance

The CK4300 Series uses a standard cylindrical lockset format with traditional knob aesthetics and ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 reliability and durability. The CK4351 entrance/office function provides inside-button control of the outside knob, rather than the outside-key-only locking control of a classroom function.
